Saudi’s first workforce readiness program aimed at NGO capacity building!

The world is full of job readiness programs that assist in providing some of the skill sets that you might need for beginning an entry level career in businesses. While those programs are useful, there are skills that apply differently within the nonprofit or third sector. This course is aimed at addressing the skill needs specific to nonprofit and third sector employment and preparing participants to enter the profession.

For students who are excited about helping others through working in an NGO, a non profit organization, starting a community project, or starting a social business, then this course is for you!

By the end of this course, you will have:

​

  • A completed online profile to begin your NGO career search

  • Have a customized ‘Career Profile Sheet’ to inspire your profile and personal branding

  • Selected participants will be offered the opportunity to engage in an impact project with a local NGO in Saudi

Learning Objectives

After completing this course, you will be able to: 

  • Recognize how your skills, personality, values, and interests can be matched with potential career opportunities, and be able to start the process of building your resume accordingly.

  • Describe the current trends in sustainability including understanding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their impact on community organizations, Corporate Social Responsibility and the purpose of these departments in businesses. 

  • Describe conflict in the workplace and the means of addressing it through conflict resolution.

  • Define and describe diversity, in terms of culture, gender, nationality, religion and other applicable areas and see the importance of diversity and inclusion in a professional environment.

  • Describe the methods and means of communication (verbal, nonverbal, etc.) and describe the differences in audiences and how those differences impact the styles of communication employed.

  • How to market yourself through both written and verbal communication including building your resume and developing an online profile.

  • Be more confident in critical soft skills including leadership, work ethics, teamwork, and presentation.
